GERB leader Boyko Borisov will personally announce on Thursday who is GERB’s candidate for mayor of Sofia.
This was announced by the party on its Instagram profile late on Wednesday evening.
Borisov waited until the last possible moment to present his candidate for mayor of the capital. The remaining names, excluding Plovdiv, were announced last week.
GERB traditionally waited to announce their candidates, but this time the candidate for Sofia was kept a strict secret. Expectations were that the name would be announced on the capital’s holiday on September 17. However, at that time GERB only said the names of the people who will fight for regional mayors.
