GERB harnessed school buses for election campaigning – 2024-09-21 07:07:53

/ world today news/ Manipulation of elections, power trading and vote buying. This scares people in the run-up to the presidential election. Citizens from Oryahovo, the village of Kharlets and Byala Slatina shared their fears during their meetings with Iliyana Yotova, a candidate for vice president nominated by the IC and supported by the BSP.

“Whole sections are being bought! We expect protocols to be replaced en masse. They take people inside the sections and show them how to vote, what to cross off,” the people said. According to them, GERB gives 30 or 50 BGN to the voters to make them vote for them. People are extremely worried about the fact that civil servants, officials of the municipal administrations, will go around the sections and make the citizens cast their votes for GERB. “This year, for the first time, there will be a mandatory vote. That is why it is important that everyone goes to vote en masse. This way we will make the bought vote meaningless and we can neutralize it. State and municipal officials do not have a place in the sections on election day. Therefore, you must be careful and immediately notify the CEC and the SICs. I call on the other candidates to speak out together against the falsification of the vote, which is being prepared by GERB”, explained Iliyana Yotova.

“It sounds scary – but it’s a fact! School buses are used by municipal administrations during the election campaign. They are used to bring people to meetings with the rulers, some give their voters excursions not only in the country, but also abroad. School buses go around to flirt with the voters,” the people of Oryahovo warned.

“If you are not elected, Bulgaria is leaving! In front of our eyes, the election campaign is going beyond the bounds of correctness because of the various tricks and machinations that GERB is inventing, just to win the vote”, the citizens are worried. “Boyko Borisov stated that they should be first in the first round. This means: keep your wits about you, because everyone gathered in the Army Hall will be out of a job. That was the Prime Minister’s message. Tsetska Tsecheva wants to be the unifier of the nation, and at the same time GERB is pressuring people in places, and Borisov announced the end of the tolerant campaign. Who is telling the truth?” asked Iliana Yotova rhetorically.
