GERB got scared and refused to update the budget – 2024-10-06 17:01:32

/ world today news/ GERB left the parliament, threatening not to participate in the meetings discussing the budget update

The decision, said Boyko Borisov, was made after talks with the speaker of the parliament, Mikhail Mikov.

When asked what he had discussed with the chairman of GERB, Mikov answered: “Let’s not comment like that on the conversations we had in private.”

Borissov said that he would very much like to help the president and the caretaker government with the vote on the state budget update, but: “No, no, that’s it. From now on, the responsibility rests only with the BSP. Let the BSP, DPS and Ataka get together – as they did for a year and two months, and if they have to pass laws, pass them. This is their job. We are leaving the parliament, today was the last working day.” specified Borisov.

Regarding whether it is time for the president to dissolve the parliament, Borisov commented: “I cannot speak on behalf of the president, and there is still an active coalition – BSP, DPS and Ataka. Let them consume everything.”

Borisov was angry at the alleged coalition of GERB with DPS.

GERB has never entered and will not enter into any behind-the-scenes or similar games, the chairman of GERB was categorical. Boyko Borisov.

Apparently, no one wants to be sewn into the DPS and this is what startled Boyko Borisov, commented for his part the representative from the PG of the Coalition for Bulgaria and deputy speaker of the National Assembly Maya Manolova. And as for the possibility of the socialists once again squabbling with the DPS, Manolova said that in politics you never say never. “We will not allow our hands to be twisted and work for the benefits of small oligarchic groups. Change in the BSP is necessary, and the attitude towards future partnerships, including coalition ones, is part of this change,” she specified.

The split with the DPS has become a hot topic in the BSP, especially after the left’s congress on Sunday, at which, according to delegates, a request was made for a government without the DPS.

“Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski works under pressure exerted by both the DPS and the president,” the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Maya Manolova, also pointed out. “He participated in a scenario that is different from the interests of the mandate-holder “Coalition for Bulgaria” and from the interests of the Bulgarian citizens,” the socialist pointed out. “We saw Borisov frightened by the fact that the future coalition between DPS and GERB was exposed. deliberated between the president, Boyko Borisov and the DPS, in which Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski was also an unwitting participant, was exposed and promptly foiled,” she added.

Manolova expressed satisfaction with GERB’s decision not to vote on the state budget update because: “Otherwise, the state would have been burdened with 3.5 billion additional debt, which is not necessary for the state budget.”

However, Manolova defined as a pity that the update of the budget of the Health Fund will not become a fact, because according to her, patients, doctors and the entire health system needed to be reassured, which will not happen.

The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament did not make the long session meaningless yesterday. According to her, during the discussion of the budget and its first reading vote, the new coalition between GERB and DPS became clear. This scared Borisov, he took a step back and thank God, the plan they had conceived will not happen, commented Manolova on today’s situation.

“We voted ‘for’ the NHIF budget update. We hope that the necessary changes will be made by the next parliament immediately after its structuring. Perhaps the plan was different here – the caretaker government would work longer and within the next parliament, to hang around the formation of the next government. At least the scenario of burdening the state with debt did not happen. The issue of the Health Fund is for Boyko Borisov and GERB, because by leaving the Parliament they are blocking the adoption of the Health Fund’s budget.” Maya Manolova.

She emphasized that there will be no more meetings. “We will be at our workplace. It is obvious that with GERB not entering the plenary hall, there will be no more plenary meetings, of course, if this is not the penultimate one,” Manolova specified.

According to her, the president himself decides when to dissolve the National Assembly, schedule the elections and form an interim government. “If he is ready with the caretaker government, he could do it, but that would also mean moving the election date,” she said.

“This National Assembly is finishing its work. It is going to elections and the next parliament must finish and give answers to a lot of questions that were not finished,” commented the chairman of the 42nd National Assembly, Mikhail Mikov, to journalists, after it became clear that that the GERB parliamentary group will categorically no longer enter the plenary hall.
