GERB staged a flash mob in front of the Ministry of Culture in support of the newspaper “Trud” and media workers.
The reason for this was the actions of the authorities, which were sealed by the editorial board of the print media.
“We came to lay the ladder of power with Trud, obviously this is President Radev’s dream,” said Lyuben Dilov, son of GERB’s PG. According to him, we are witnessing an “action to terminate the activity” of the oldest still published Bulgarian newspaper.
Dilov and other GERB politicians, including Asen Baltov, Kostadin Angelov and Toma Bikov, distributed today’s issue of the newspaper.
We remind you that yesterday morning the police broke into the building where the offices of “Trud” are located. The media declared civil disobedience and refused to leave their jobs. After midnight, however, the people were taken out and the editorial office was sealed. As of this morning, the print media have been unable to access their office.
The Ministry of Culture announced that the penalties and unrecovered consumables amount to BGN 235,794.05, accumulated since 2012. The ministry also said that independent private and free media should depend on their readers, viewers, listeners, and not systematically harm the state.
