GERB came out with a position after the accusations that they exposed the DB recording. Here is what the party headed by Boyko Borisov wrote on their Facebook page:
“On the occasion of claims by representatives of Democratic Bulgaria that the leaked recording of a meeting of their parliamentary group was made by GERB, we are obliged by GERB to state:
– the recording is from the live broadcast on the website of the National Assembly. The meeting of Democratic Bulgaria was held in the “West” hall of the parliament, where a little earlier a meeting of the temporary commission for “Jemcorp” was held, which was broadcast live on the website of the National Assembly;
– we are surprised that Democratic Bulgaria is holding a meeting of its parliamentary group in a hall that is known to be equipped for live broadcasting and they have not checked whether the cameras and microphones are on or off;
– proof that it was not GERB that made a recording of the DB meeting, but that it was transmitted through the system of the National Assembly, is also the fact that the live broadcast was also broadcast on Darik’s airwaves;
– a quote heard in the recording by Hristo Ivanov, who says: “the question is to get rid of Darik’s site, who saw – saw” is even more indicative.
Unfortunately, another attempt by the representatives of Democratic Bulgaria to make themselves victims and to shift the blame for their scandalous conversations to someone else turned out to be unsuccessful. And once again the masks have fallen!”
