This was stated by Valentin Radev from GERB at a briefing.
Radev also said that the caretaker government has other important tasks. “We do not understand and are surprised why the professional guides are changing. Why are they changing the chief of defense”, asked Radev rhetorically. He also said a few words about Gen. Eftim Eftimov, stating that he held the highest position in NATO for almost two terms, was director of a directorate.
According to Radev, Eftimov said that “so far, no country has raised the topic of money in the joint protection of the sky”. You know what this means, Radev said and continued – a truth told by a worthy Bulgarian general, what it can lead to”, commented Radev.
He also asked if the president knew what the caretaker government was doing. Rumen Radev approved this decree for the replacement of the Chief of Defense.
According to Valentin Radev, this is extreme partisanship by a caretaker government. He asked to reduce the political pressure on the Bulgarian officers and is of the opinion that the officers should be more distant from politics.
Imagine what is happening now down the hierarchy, Radev said. People shiver in anticipation and wonder what is going on, comments Radev. According to him, this allows the BSP to enter power through the backyard.
Radev also commented on the commercial companies – TEREM is six commercial companies, stating that the board of directors was changed there because of the poor financial results of the group. According to him, TEREM does not need to be profitable because its purpose is to repair military equipment during wartime. In addition, the company generated not BGN 3.6 million, but BGN 4.2 million in profit.
According to Radev, Oresharski’s people are currently being returned to power. This means the entry of the BSP into power through the back door. Radev asked the president to stop this insane shift and not to stress the workers in the chain.
Emil Hristov – leader of the list of GERB in Stara Zagora, stated that meddling in the Ministry of Defense at the moment, when the situation around us is tense, has another purpose. Replacing one general with another is not an end in itself, and it does not simply pit two men against each other. This creates tension and uncertainty and affects the morale of the officers.
Temenuzka Petkova touched on the topic of the SHEL company’s research in the Black Sea, near Silistar. According to her, the studies have been completed successfully and the team has said that the studies are encouraging. She also said that in Turkey, where SHEL has also conducted research, there are open deposits. The main priority of Borisov’s government was diversification and they worked on this idea with the results being the interconnector connection with Romania and the connection with Greece. Petkova also commented on the topic of the Easter supplements for pensioners with pensions below BGN 314, saying that BGN 51 million was set for this purpose. This supplement is because public finances were managed during Borisov’s mandate in a way that allows pensioners are given the supplements now.
