“GERB lost the elections in Sofia and other large municipalities and together with DPS invented this fake news that manipulations with the machine vote are being prepared”. This was stated at a PP-DB briefing by the co-chairman of the parliamentary group Atanas Atanasov.
According to him, “everything starts from a mythical report of DANS, which, on top of that, is signed by the deputy chairman of DANS”.

“In a calmer environment after the elections, we will have to clarify what this report contains,” said Atanasov. According to him, it is best that DANS does not deal with the elections. “Let the CEC decide – to have or not to have machine voting,” urged Atanasov.
Kiril Petkov stated that he expected “pre-election circuses”, and what happened today exceeded all his expectations. “We know that they are losing the elections in Sofia, they are wondering what to come up with, they are simply changing the topics. We are not at all afraid to go completely to a paper vote,” said Petkov.
Hristo Ivanov added that an attempt is being made to exploit yet another conspiracy theory. “All Bulgarian citizens, with elementary technical literacy, know that the machines have not taken into account the election results for a long time,” Ivanov said. He urged the CEC and DANS not to be involved in manipulations. “Everyone will bear their responsibility, but this should not affect the way the elections are conducted,” Ivanov said. He is confident that all the claims from today will fall apart after the elections like a badly staged play.

Bozhidar Bojanov stated that the machines are printers and the code does not count the result. “One cannot claim any manipulations, given that in the end people count what came out of the machine,” Bojanov added.
“The only secret thing in the whole process is the three passwords that CEC members wrote on a laptop, they stayed in their heads, on the laptop they took to the CEC’s cash desk, in their building,” Bojanov said.
