Former adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Heraštšenko tells about the claims circulating on the messaging service X on the Russian Telegram channel, according to which the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Army Valery Gerasimov would have received advance intelligence about the invasion of Ukraine.

Earlier, the news site Bloomberg also reported on Gerasimov’s alleged withholding of information.

According to Herashchenko, Gerasimov was informed about the Ukrainian counterattack by Lt.-Gen Esedulla Abatševilta. However, Gerasimov ordered Abatchev “not to spread panic” and “not to fall for the enemy’s disinformation”.

In addition, Gerasimov allegedly withdrew, among other things, the army’s special forces and other forces from the Kursk region the night before the invasion of Ukraine. Gerasimov allegedly did not consider the deployment of troops in the area necessary. Some of the troops consisted of conscripts and former prisoners.

Most of the trained soldiers were allegedly moved in the direction of Belgorod to help the troops attacking the Kharkov region.
