Gerard Pique willing to cut his salary by Barcelona. Pique’s wife, Shakira, sent a touching message to the 34-year-old.
Barcelona is currently experiencing financial problems. Most recently, the president of the Catalan club, Joan Laporta, said the club’s debt had penetrated 1 billion euros.
Therefore, Barcelona must reduce spending. The salaries of big players must be cut, especially when there are salary restrictions in LaLiga.
Gerard Pique is one of the players who are willing to cut their wages. The former Manchester United player wants to cut 50 percent, from 38 million euros a year to 19 million euros a year.
Through her personal Instagram account, @shakira, a singer from Colombia who is also Pique’s wife, gives support.

Financial difficulties are also the cause of Barcelona having to release Lionel Messi. In fact, the Argentine player has also wanted to cut his salary by 50 percent.
