Gerard Joling Reveals Past Controversy and Future Plans on Today Inside

Gerard Joling joined us last night Today Inside. And it was mentioned that he was once cancelled. Something that RTL no longer allows him to talk about, but which he did at the VIgentlemen did.

Joling is not afraid to express his unvarnished opinion on many talk shows. Not so in his favorite talk show Today Inside. And last night the singer did not mince his words and viewers could once again count on a bawdy joke here and there.

Gerard Joling was cancelled

But Joling may also have been a bit loose-lipped about things he is not actually allowed to talk about. Özcan Akyol mentions that Joling was once cancelled. “Without saying it yourself.” Akyol tells Joling the program Gerard and the Foreigners made about people with a migration background. A program of which Joling made five of the six episodes. “RTL actually doesn’t allow me to talk about it anymore. But for special reasons it was never broadcast.”

According to Joling, it was one of the most beautiful programs he ever made. In that program, the singer went to the country of origin with migrants. He traveled to Russia, Suriname, Curaçao, Morocco and Poland. “It was also about prejudice,” said the singer.

Joling is not allowed to just go to Today Inside

RTL did not dare to broadcast that. According to the VIfaces because there was a riot going on at the time. “They thought that was too dangerous. But it was nice television,” said Joling. Wilfred Genee suggests that it can always be broadcast. “And different with us,” says Genee, who means that the program may be broadcast on SBS.

Joling is under contract with RTL. And may only appear on SBS when it comes to his singing career. Johan Derksen points out that Joling is not up to date VI would come if he wasn’t allowed to sing. “That is a bit sensitive. I am under contract with RTL,” says Joling. According to that contract, Joling must have a reason to join Today Inside to sit. Wilfred Genee jokes that there are 17 songs on his new album. “You can come 16 more times after this.” Joling: “I will certainly do that.”
