Gerard Gallant is reportedly a strong contender for the vacant New York Rangers head coach position.

According to reporter Darren Dreger, the Blueshirts have obtained permission from the Vegas Golden Knights to discuss the position with the 57-year-old.
Gallant is still under contract with the club who showed him the way out during the 2019-20 season.
