Gerard Butler has reached a settlement with the producer of the action film series Olympus Has Fallen. The actor believes he is entitled to more than 9.4 million euros, which in his opinion the producer wrongly kept in his own pocket.
It is not known what amount Butler receives from the producer, writes The Hollywood Reporter.
The Scottish actor, who stars in the 2013 film and its sequels London Has Fallen (2016) in Angel Has Fallen (2019), according to the indictment, signed an agreement stating that he is entitled to 10 percent of the film’s net profits.
In addition, he had to receive percentages of both domestic and foreign income if it passed the threshold of 70 million and 35 million dollars (about 66 and 33 million euros respectively).
According to Butler, producer Nu Image/Millennium Films misrepresented actual revenues. These would have been underestimated by tens of millions.
The film in which Butler, as a secret agent, has to prevent an assassination attempt on the President of the United States, grossed approximately 143 million euros worldwide.
