Géraldine Carré, journalist and former host of “Intimate Confessions”, died at 54

The journalist made herself known by presenting the program “Intimate Confessions” on TF1 in the 2000s. Several personalities such as Benjamin Castaldi and Julien Courbet paid tribute to her.

Journalist Géraldine Carré died at the age of 54. Several colleagues of the host, like Benjamin Castaldi, confirmed the news this Friday, May 3 on social networks.

“Definitely, it’s always the best who leave… Everything I feel turns into a deep admiration for the person you were. Your values, your kindness and your smile remain engraved in our memories,” confided the former presenter from ‘Secret Story’ on X, formerly Twitter.

Host Julien Courbet also paid tribute to a journalist who had “a lot of class, perspective, self-deprecation and humor”. “I entrusted him with the presentation of Intimate Confessions on TF1. Rest in peace my Gégé,” he wrote on X.

Presenter of “Intimate Confessions”

Géraldine Carré, is particularly known to the PAF for having presented Confessions Intimates on TF1 in the 2000s. But before making her debut on television, the journalist born in Lyon cut her teeth on the radio, notably on Europe 2, where she hosted two shows.

Géraldine Carré turned to television in 1994 on Paris Première. She then collaborated with Christophe Dechavanne, Daniela Lumbroso and Julien Courbet, before becoming, from 1997, a familiar face on TF1 presenting the cult show Confessions Intimates.

Despite the success of the program Géraldine Carré joined Canal+ in the early 2000s to present the magazine La vie en clair, which was quickly stopped by the channel’s management.

The journalist also presented the show Become a mason of the heart on the Foxlife channel or Langue de VIP on TF1 in 2007 alongside Benjamin Castaldi, a program that she left after three editions.

In addition to television, Géraldine Carré has also written several novels including You, my baby, a work which compiles testimonies on motherhood, published by Editions de la Martinière in 1999.
