Georgios Giakoumakis supported Celtic en el lederato

Sports editorial staff, Oct. 8 In a dramatic final, with a goal from Greek Georgios Giakoumakis, Celtic defeated St. Johnstone (1-2) and maintained the leadership of the Scottish League which completes matchday 10 this weekend.

The Australian side of Champions League rival Ange Postecglou struggled to secure all three points from Peth’s McDiarmid Park, although they took the lead with an own goal from Andrew Considine just before half-time.

Celtic held the lead during a quiet second half until the final stretch. With time everything has changed. In the 93rd minute, Alex Mitchell took advantage of an Alistair Crawford cross and equalized.

Even so, in the midst of an avalanche of guests, Giakoumakis received a ball from Alexandro Bernabei and beat Remi Matthews again to seal the champion’s triumph.

The win keeps Celtic in the lead, two points clear of Rangers, who beat St. Mirren. EFE
