Georginio Wijnaldum, 32, reaped great success at Liverpool between 2016 and 2021 with a Premier League title and a Champions League title, then left for Paris Saint-Germain, where he hasn’t delivered in the same way since.
Last season Wijnaldum was on loan at Roma – and now he is changing continents.
Late on Saturday night, Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq announced that Wijnaldum would join for future games under Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard.
Former Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson also plays in Al-Ettifaq, which means that he is now reunited with Wijnaldum. Swede Robin Quaison also belongs to the club, which is in fifth place in the Saudi league.
