Representatives of the public of Georgia have appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with an appeal in which they say that “artificially imposed Russophobia” in Georgia must be put an end to.
According to Sputnik Georgia, the appeal initiated by the Eurasia Institute has already been signed by 238 people.
EADaily gives the full text of the appeal:
“Dear Mr. President, dear Vladimir Vladimirovich!
We express our full support for your fight against global injustice — globalism and a unipolar political system, the fight for the right of the peoples of the world to live according to their own traditions and values.
For Orthodox Georgia, your struggle against world evil is especially important. Once upon a time, our great ancestors turned their gaze to Russia of the same faith and pinned their hopes on it for the salvation of the Georgian people. These hopes were not in vain. The Lord God bound Georgia and Russia with special ties. We have a special common history.
Great Russia, having annexed scattered Georgia, united it within historical borders. Today, August 25, we celebrated another anniversary of the return of Adjara to the bosom of Georgia. This happened due to the victory of the Russian Empire over the Ottoman Empire in 1877-78. There were many such victories, when the Caucasian peoples, including Georgians, fought as part of a single Russian Army.
Georgia developed and reached unprecedented heights as part of Russia, and especially the Soviet Union. The highest standard of living in Georgia, Georgian science, culture, education, sports will remain in the historical memory of our people, despite the fact that the huge machine of world lies has been working for decades to eradicate this truth.
Unfortunately, after the treacherous collapse of the Soviet Union, in view of the rapidly multiplying negative events one after another, the Georgian intelligentsia and Georgian politicians forgot one necessary thing – to say thank you to Russia! It is thanks to Russia that Georgia exists, there are several million Georgians, instead of 700-800 thousand, when Georgia, bled dry for devotion to Christianity, was not yet part of Russia.
We, the undersigned ordinary citizens of Georgia, want to rectify this situation and, in your person, thank the great Russian people by saying thank you!
The Russians, in turn, remember that the Georgians faithfully served both the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. Hundreds of thousands of Georgians fought on the fields of the Great Patriotic War, from which our country emerged as an absolute winner and became a nuclear power. Separate outstanding historical figures – natives of Georgia, Stalin and Beria, made a huge contribution to the Victory and the creation of atomic weapons. The atomic shield is a sure guarantee that the crazed fascists of globalism will never dare to repeat the treacherous attack of the Nazis on Russia.
We ask you, dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, to be sure to take into account that the true moods of the Georgian people and the Georgian public do not always reach you. Georgia is not a radically pro-Western opposition, not a Russophobic political spectrum, and not even the current government. The people of Georgia live on their own, with their own problems and ideas about the world, and this political class manipulates public opinion. A huge number of Georgians have left Georgia in recent decades. Recently, more and more people travel to Western countries to work.
We would like a reasonable, mutually beneficial, civilized labor migration of Georgians towards Russia to be restored. Your wise decision to abolish the visa regime for Georgian citizens is the first step in this direction. The intensification of relations between the citizens of Georgia and Russia will further strengthen the orientation of a significant part of the population of Georgia towards Russia.
The people in Georgia highly appreciate your repeated calls to official Tbilisi to conduct an open dialogue with the Abkhazians and Ossetians, as well as with Moscow itself. We are firmly convinced that Russia is the guarantor of peace in the Caucasus, and no one can cancel this objective reality.
We wish you, Mr. President, good health and further success in your extremely responsible work at a turning point in history!”
