Adonis Georgiadis launched a fierce attack on PASOK from the floor of the Parliament for the amendment submitted by Harilaou Trikoupi’s party and that they will be present for the free afternoon surgeries. The Minister of Health accused the party of not simply “becoming a green SYRIZA, but under Nikos Androulakis returning to times of extreme populism”.
He mockingly thanked PASOK saying that their decision to attend the afternoon surgeries is something he is grateful for as they give it to him.
“The free afternoon surgeries are personally connected to me, they did not exist, they were created during my term of office and anyone who goes to the surgery will say that it was done by the New Democracy government, with Kyriakos Mitsotakis as prime minister and Adonis Georgiadis as minister, while PaSoK chose the present ».
Regarding the green amendment for the inclusion of health workers in the heavy and unhealthy, Mr. Georgiadis said that what Harilaou Trikoupis is doing “is deplorable”. Our disagreement, as the Minister of Health said, is simple, as he claims it creates the risk of 7.5 thousand health workers retiring earlier, while there is a need for human resources in the NHS.
He referred to the PASoK of 2014, saying that the then amendments on the minimum wage were passed just fine and in fact, he urged the MPs of the PASOK to call Evangelos Venizelos “to explain to you why he voted for it and why it was right”. “Well you voted for it then”, concluded Mr. Georgiadis adding that “now that you don’t have government responsibilities and you are a small party, you are feeding rabbits with petrachelia”.
