With shouts and insults, the Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis responded to bodies and unions of the island of Lemnos who complained about the situation at the island’s hospital, with the Minister of Health trying to present an idyllic situation that does not correspond to reality.
In particular, a delegation of agencies and unions, as part of a dynamic mobilization on the occasion of the visit of Adonis Georgiadis, entered the hospital – where the minister had a meeting with the governor – requesting staffing of the hospital with permanent staff.
As they reported, they are forced to go to Athens, as the island’s hospital has 22 permanent doctors according to the figures of the Limnos Hospital Doctors Association, while the organization predicts 44.

For his part, Adonis Georgiadis spoke of “great progress” at the hospital in recent years and began to accuse the residents of lying. “You come for political reasons to lie” he noted among other things.
“Don’t underestimate our intelligence. We live here. Come live here and see what you get up to. The ticket to Athens is 400 euros for two people. It is a matter of life, not a matter of time. You talk with numbers, we live over here. You are speaking from safety” replied the delegation to Adonis Georgiadis, who then, seeing that he was squeezed, started the insults.
“I have been working in the private sector since I was 12, I am not unemployed, nor a civil servant of ADEDY. I am in the private sector. I’m not permanent, I’m a regular worker,” said the Minister of Health defiantly.
