Georgia threatened the EU in case of refusal of candidate status

“We are one of the most civilized nations….we do not beg,” Garibashvili said, noting that Georgia does not demand anything undeserved.

According to him, the conclusion from the European Commission is expected on June 17, and the final decision of the European Union – on June 22-23.

“If the decision is unfair, I reserve the right to ‘lift the veil’ and say everything,” Garibashvili said without specifying what exactly.

At the same time, the prime minister also noted that the status of a candidate for Georgia “has a symbolic meaning.”

“Of course, this is a very good status, but for us the main document, axis and landmark is the Association Agreement, visa-free regime, free trade,” Garibashvili explained his position.
