Georgia Taylor-Brown 2020 Triathlon World Champion

A getaway on wet ground decides the 2020 World Champion in Hamburg, Georgia Taylor-Brown asserts her status as an athlete.

Swimming with neoprene, on a day that was getting colder than in men and with areas of the circuit wet from the rain, the 2020 Triathlon World Cup began.

How was it written Jessica Learmonth led the swim segment with a cut of 16 triathletes in 11 sg being Anna godoy the 15.

Behind came the Spanish with position 24 for Routier, 26 for Sara Pérez, 30 for Miriam Casillas and 52 for Xisca Tous.

In the pits Learmonth and the Austrian Feuersinger push forward passing with 6 seconds over a group of 19 triathletes that Anna Godoy closes.

The wet ground wreaks havoc on the turning points and Anna Godoy remains in the second round in which a definitive group of 20 triathletes is formed in which ours do not get involved.

In the third round the group is broken with 12 triathletes in front commanded by the Brazilian Vittoria Lopes, the three favorites, Zaferes, Learmonth and Duffy are doing a lot of work to sentence the test in T2.

Finally the 12 at the head arrive with the test sentenced, Flora Duffy is the first to get off with an advantage of 45 seconds over a small group of 5 led by Bragmayer and 1:45 over a stretched group in which Routire, Casillas, Godoy and Sara Pérez, while Tous drops to 2:45.

The 5k would decide the podium, Georgia Taylor-Brown goes all out and goes alone passing the 2.5 km with a lead of 5 seconds over Flora Duffy and 8 over Jessica Learmonth.

Finally Taylor-Brown wins solo with a time of. Flora Duffy is second at 9 seconds and Laura Lindemann’s final comeback at 23 seconds. The top 5 is for the Americans Taylor Spivey at 32 seconds and Katie Zaferes at 35 seconds. The finalist places are for the Dutch Maya Kingma, the British Jessica Learmonth and Rachel Kramer.
