Georgia will visit Spain this Sunday as the last of the group. The team led by Willy Sagnol was surprised by the Kosovo team (0-1), which with the victory – the first in a World Cup qualifier – escaped the red lantern that it showed after losing the first two days.
In a tight match with little football, the Kosovar team benefited from Davit Khocholava’s own goal in the first half and took all three points from Tbilisi. UEFA gave the goal to Kosovo striker Vedat Muriqi, but in the images it was clear how the Georgian center-back was the one who introduced the ball into his own goal.
Georgia, unable to turn the score around, will travel to Spain to face La Roja at the Nuevo Vivero, being the last classified with a single point after four games played.
