Georgian President Salome Zourabisvili told Reuters today that she believes Russian-style “methodology” was used in the election process in her country.
The Electoral Commission declared the ruling pro-Russian Georgian Dream party the winner of the parliamentary elections with 54% of the vote in an election process that, as international observers have denounced, was riddled with violations and irregularities, which, according to Western countries, need to be investigated.
Salome Zourabishvili, for whom the election result is the product of a “special Russian operation”, believes that the ruling party gathered about 40% of the vote, as shown by the two exit polls which predicted that the pro-European opposition secures the majority of seats in the parliament.
