Georgia Bulldogs crowned NCAA champions

The University of Georgia won the NCAA championship title for the third time in its history (after 1942 and 1980), Monday in Indianapolis. The Bulldogs won the final against the Alabama Crimson Tide (33-18), the defending champion.

Georgia made the difference late in the game. In the first period, no touchdowns were scored. Alabama led 9-6 at the break. Then, in the third quarter, Zamir White, the Bulldogs running back, scored the first TD of the game (13-9).

The Crimson Tide then took the lead (18-13), but Georgia eventually scored three touchdowns in the final eight minutes: two receptions from Adonai Mitchell and Brock Bowers and a 79-yard interception return from Kelee Ringo.
