Let me remind you that GP already resigned once as the leader of ABV. This happened in the dramatic beginning of 2015. Then there was a little political infection. The ABV Parliamentary Group voted in favor of the 16 billion loan, despite the TV tour of the GP, who promised from every screen that this could not happen.
GP then organized a sort of direct election and found himself re-elected with KimIrSenovsky result – nearly 94 percent. Which was logical, because the formula there is like this – there is Parvanov, there is ABV. If GP withdraws, his entire party shrinks to a mu-meson, a particle hardly detectable and distinguishable in the poetic landscape of the universe. In other words, beyond GP, ABV goes the way of the reformers – to that unexplored netherworld, from where some do return, but only in the form of ghosts, spirits and other unpleasant astral entities.
JP could have written a pretty good memoir that would have become a bestseller if he had decided to write it instead of pretending to be a party builder. I fear that in his post-presidential life he has caused the readership of his future work to decline sharply. In his good years, when he had believed that he was irreplaceable, Parvanov released as a mental virus the idea that the left and the right are dead, an idea on which the “Give Bulgaria” movement is built today, whose intellectual guru is undoubtedly GP. It was an attempt to create some abstract, technocratic, expert politics, the implantation of complete boredom on the exhausted body of Bulgaria.
This concept exploded radically, but the right-wing disciples of GP have yet to establish it. With Parvanov’s resignation (hopefully this is true), Bulgarian politics gets an opportunity for some treatment, it is cleansed of viruses and hopefully never again will we be caught by such exotic diseases as ABV.
