Top players, but also clubs from home and abroad, provide an insight into the ins and outs of the football world (almost) every day via Instagram, X or other internet channels. In this edition of VZ Social attention is paid to the welcome of Georges Mikautadze.

FC Metz supporters have given Georges Mikautadze a very warm welcome. The Ajax loanee was presented to the general public prior to the Coupe de France match with Clermont Foot and he received loud applause. The attacker will certainly play for Metz until the end of the current season with shirt number 10. Mikautadze was not registered in time to be part of the match selection on Friday evening, but there is a good chance that he will be there in the first round after the winter break.

My god we laughed our heads off at Kinkladze, that was the best joke ever. Ajax thought it had bought a striker, although now Ajax thought it had bought a winger. Also funny

Give it to that boy! He felt fine at Metz and was then bought by Ajax for a very high sum, so it was logical that he and Metz agreed to this. He then never plays more than 3 games in a row, let alone in his own position. He was also in a championship team at Metz for which you just have to be a fairly close team at every level, then to Ajax where a look of unknowns was opened, including a new trainer. We will have to see whether he is ever really worth that 16 million, but with Metz he may be able to get his own career back on the upward path. From the pots I have looked back at, I think he is a player who has something. Bashing Mikautadze himself makes no sense at all in my opinion. This is entirely due to Ajax itself. And I even think that Mikautadze could have surprised in a healthy Ajax.

Well, more than half of all Georgians at Ajax have already failed. That is of course a shocking amount.

January 5, 2024 at 10:31 p.m

I think they in Amsterdam are happy to be rid of him, at least for now. Now dump even more players who do not match the Ajax profile at all.

January 5, 2024 at 11:33 p.m

I’m not happy about that at all. Didn’t have a decent chance. In Brobbey we have a striker who is nice at the third level in England with his physicality, but cannot do anything with it. Then in Akpom we have someone who scores a little easier and is a little less terrible with the ball, but otherwise does not measure up. I had seen Mikautadze gain some confidence after 4 matches. But now all he has gotten is some sporadic substitute appearances and a starting spot in a hopeless match. And that’s what we judge someone on…

Brobbey, together with Hato, is one of the few bright spots. Despite missing opportunities at the start of the season, he adds a lot to Ajax’s football.

January 6, 2024 at 12:02 a.m

What is it with Hato? Ajax has conceded no fewer than 30(!) goals and we are not even halfway through. People are pretending it’s the new Maldini, man.

January 6, 2024 at 00:38

Nowadays, naming someone as a bright spot is like seeing him as the new Maldini? In addition, the many goals conceded can be attributed more to the enormous hole in the midfield. Hato is still relatively able to escape the malaise and is of course still only 17 years old.

Great, the clean-up has begun. May there be a few more who have no business at Ajax. The day Avila leaves I open a bottle of cava.

January 5, 2024 at 11:31 p.m

I think Avila is the worst player I have ever seen at Ajax, it is completely absurd that they got him. And for 12 million.

January 5, 2024 at 11:56 p.m

Did you drink the champagne when Avila was bought by Ajax from Mark van Bommels FC Antwerp, according to Mark Avila made a major contribution to Antwerp’s championship.

So what should he look for with us? The 5th place? A mediocre trainer who is charming? A club without a director? There isn’t much to find either.

January 5, 2024 at 10:37 p.m

The only winner in this story is Metz, they took millions on him and then hired him back. All in all a big disappointment. And the same story every time, yes, he has given so many goals and assists in the French league 2, so all in all, this is money given away by Ajax.

January 5, 2024 at 11:15 p.m

Mikautadze also earns a few million (signing bonus) for a six-month holiday and then returning to your old place.

January 5, 2024 at 11:40 p.m

Delicious Mikautadze! That young one of mine, cashed well at Ajax. Lived in the Netherlands for six months, now demolishing again at Metz, then made a nice transfer. Perhaps as Auba’s successor next season?

6 January 2024 at 00:24

Fuck off with all that Mislintat crap. Initially I was 100% behind them, because they arrived in the most difficult conditions imaginable. Bad trainer, no clear policy, team without guidance. Etc. But now they’ve been there for a few months, and it’s still all a mess. Get rid of it. Mikautadze can really play football and I wish him the best of luck. But he has no business at Ajax now.

January 6, 2024 at 00:33

Anti-advertising for Ajax. He won’t be that bad, he just doesn’t fit in with Ajax’s football + I can’t imagine he had a fair chance. Is now being labeled as a black sheep in a worthless team.
