Party member and Walloon Minister of Budget Jean-Luc Crucke says that Bouchez must take a different attitude. Among other things, the “hyper presidency” should end. Crucke speaks of a last chance for the party chairman.
Bouchez is under fire in his own party – this time – about his failed attempt to give Denis Ducarme a place in the Walloon government at the expense of Minister Valerie De Bue.
Due to the choice of Mathieu Michel (MR) as State Secretary for Administrative Simplification and Digital Agenda, no minister post was available for Denis Ducarme in the new federal government. Bouchez therefore decided to pass him on to the Walloon government, where he would take the place of De Bue.
However, the latter immediately met with enormous protest within the party and subsequently turned out to be illegal because the government would then no longer meet the gender quota. He says that the Walloon government must consist of a third women.
