The artist, George Wassouf, touched on the story of the gift he had sent to the Argentine soccer player, Lionel Messi, revealing in an interview via “ET Arabic”, that a mutual friend between him and Messi visited him one day, asking him for a gift for the world champion, so he brought him a towel and signed his name on it, and he was photographed. He signs his signature. When Al-Wasuf was asked if the World Cup champion had exchanged the gift for him, he replied, “No, I did not receive a gift from him, but I will ask him to sign a football ball and send it to me.” Al-Wasuf added that portraying Messi holding the gift, showing off in public, constitutes great humility on his part.
Al-Wasouf revealed during the interview that he underwent a successful operation, during which he removed a small “pill” from his throat, and he recovered.
And about his artistic projects, he announced his preparations to perform a group of concerts, and he also talked about a song in the process of preparation entitled “Liar”, which says in one of its verses: “He is a liar with a liar like him, and a traitor with a traitor like him. I thank my Lord that I am not like him,” stressing that he does not address its content to all people, and what is meant by it is to know himself.
As for the secret of his stardom, which he maintained over the years, Al-Wasouf answered that everyone who wants to maintain his stardom and continue his successes must be humble in order to win the audience’s love, just like Lionel Messi’s humility when he took the picture holding the gift towel.
