George W. Bush – Reveals what he voted for Trump

NEW YORK (Dagbladet): Recently, former President George W. Bush (74) has lined up in a series of interviews.

He is currently working on the book “Out of Many, One”, which contains his portrait paintings of immigrants to the United States along with their stories.

The formerly controversial president is now working for a comprehensive reform of immigration policy in a more humane direction.

– Isolationist

In an interview with the morning program Today Show on NBC this week, he made a clear showdown with the current version of the Republican Party under Trump’s leadership.

“It is isolationist, protectionist and to some extent nativism,” Bush said just over 12 years after leaving the White House.

In a new interview with People Magazine Bush now also reveals that he did not vote for Trump during last year’s presidential election. Not even current President Joe Biden got Bush’s vote.

Instead, he entered Condoleezza Rice. She was his foreign minister from 2005 to 2009.

– She’s aware of that. But she told me she would refuse to take the job, Bush told the magazine.

A few days after the election, Bush also called Biden to congratulate him on his victory. At the same time, until recently, Trump has continued to claim without any documentation that the election was stolen from him.

– Nauseous

Since leaving the White House in 2009, Bush has maintained a low political profile and failed to comment on various issues. Now he makes it clear that he wants a very different immigration policy than the hard line former President Donald Trump tried to pursue for four years. He believes the Trump years have divided the United States.

– The country was very divided during this period. And as you know, the result was that he was not re-elected, Bush added CBS News.

At the same time, he will not immediately blame Trump for the deadly attack on Congress by Trump supporters on January 6.

– It made me nauseous. I could not believe it. You could not either. Most Americans sat there thinking: What the hell is going on? One can try to guess at the motivation of agitated people, but the story will distribute guilt as time goes on, Trump says in the TV interview.
