At the annual dinner at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Soros said war has irrevocably changed the world even when fighting stops the situation will never return to the status quo.
“Indeed, the Russian invasion might be the start of World War III and our civilization may not survive,” he said NewsweekWednesday (25/5/2022).
The 91-year-old said that Putin’s invasion had rocked Europe to its core.
The financier who is often targeted by the US right wing is the chairman of Soros Fund Management LLC and funds liberal charities and non-governmental organizations through his Open Society Foundations.
He said that prioritizing war over crises such as pandemics and climate change poses its own dangers.

“That’s why I say our civilization probably won’t survive,” he said.
“We have fallen far behind, and climate change is almost irreversible. It could be the end of our civilization,” Soros said, citing experts.
