George Soros Hands Over Multi-Billion Dollar Empire to 37-Year-Old Son

The 92-year-old multi-billionaire, superinvestor and philanthropist George Soros hands over his empire to his 37-year-old son Alex. According to the Hungarian-American Soros, his son has earned the right to manage the fortune, he says The Wall Street Journal.

The Soros Fund Management has 25 billion dollars (23.2 billion euros). Since the 1990s, Soros has been putting money he’s amassed through smart investing into his Open Society Foundations. The foundation aims to support democracies in countries where this is not self-evident.

Soros left his native country for the United States after World War II. There he built his fortune with his good nose for investing. He rose to fame in 1992 after making $1 billion by speculating on the value of the British pound.
