George RR Martin leaves fantasy aside to tackle a new genre: science fiction. Indeed, the creator of Game of Thrones will produce an adapted series of Roadmarks by Roger Zelazny.

After Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, two series adapted from the fantasy novels of George RR Martin, the author is heading for a new series. Indeed, the creator of Game of Thrones will produce for HBO the adaptation of the science fiction novel by Roger Zelazny: Roadmarks. The author is at the origin of this project, as well as Kalinda Vazquez (Fear the Walking Dead) who will write and produce the series.

The main plot of Roadmarks is built around time travel. Indeed, each exit of this highway leads to different moments and stories. And even to alternative futures. It is for some a simple highway of exploration. But for others, it is the only way to correct their mistake. By the way, she was created by the dragons of Bel’kwinith. However, a huge mystery hangs around these dragons, as no one knows who they are, or even why they created the highway.

Science fiction is far from an unknown genre for George RR Martin, since he wrote many sci-fi novels himself. Additionally, George RR Martin began his television career adapting Last Defender of Camelot the Roger Zelazny, and 1985.

At the moment, the project has only just entered development. We will therefore have to wait a long time before finding out.
