THE George Kapoutzidis spoke live on Friday morning (2/16) to the Star about the same-sex couple bill being passed. The actor and screenwriter, found in the seats of the Parliament, referred to his parents, bursting into tears.
Unable to hide his emotion, he revealed that before entering Parliament on Thursday night, he contacted his parents and thanked them for the strength they gave him all these years.
«I told them thank you for making me the person I became and for raising me the way you raised me and thank you for the strength you gave me. Why don’t you understand how much strength a child gets when they feel their parents are proud of them, not proud because they won a competition. Proud of his heart, his success and his failure.
I dream of a world where no child will have to have this uncomfortable conversation and no parent will be ashamed of who their child is. Just let him be a good person. You can’t imagine how much strength parents give when they love and accept their children. Love comes from the heart and has no genitals. The heart has no gender. This is what I wanted to say. Sorry, but I love them so much for the strength they gave me.”
