Protests, riots and clashes continue in the American city of Minneapolis following the death of African-American George Floyd on Monday while in police custody.

For the fourth consecutive day there were clashes between the police and the protesters with tear gas, fires and breaks and looting of commercial premises.

In a few minutes Floyd dies in a hospital.

This Friday, riots and clashes with police in the city continued, and even a CNN journalist, Omar Jiménez, and his team were apparently arrested because they did not move from the site when told to do so.

The team was released an hour later, after authorities apologized for the arrest.

On Thursday, police officers fired tear gas and rubber bullets in an attempt to disperse a crowd outside the police station.

The security cordon around the police station was finally overcome by the protesters, who set it on fire, as well as two other nearby buildings, when the agents withdrew.

The Minneapolis Police Department said in a statement that the station had been evacuated shortly after 10 p.m. “to safeguard the safety of our personnel.”
