Kirpi Uimonen, a journalist with a long career in Hollywood, describes George Clooney as an exceptional superstar.

He thinks that Clooney has a good understanding of the working logic of the media because the star’s father once worked as a journalist.
In his book, Uimonen also praises how Clooney has an enormously broad general education, an excellent sense of humor and the star always focuses completely on each interlocutor, even if the meeting lasts only a few minutes. Clooney also made an indirect offer of help to Uimo.
“Over the years, we became familiar faces. When I got to the international journalists’ organization, he congratulated me and asked me to let him know if there were any problems. Coincidentally, at some of the cocktail parties held on Finland’s Independence Day, we talked about the winter war.”

In his book, Uimonen also colorfully tells about Clooney’s preference for practical jokes.
“He enthusiastically plays practical jokes at the expense of others, one of his favorite victims is the actor Matt Damon. On the set of the war drama The Monuments Men (2014), which he directed, he asked the tailor every week to make Damon’s military uniform a little smaller. The actress thought she was constantly gaining weight. In the crime comedy Suburbicon (2017), Clooney made Damon escape from the crime scene on a children’s bike.”
According to Uimonen, Clooney can also laugh at himself. This was visible, for example, when the star’s twins Ella and Alexander were small.
“When the twins were little, she spread peanut butter on a clean diaper and threw it in the trash. When the guests were in the kitchen, he took the diaper out of the trash can, flicked the spread with his finger, put it in his mouth and asked: – What is this?”
Journalist Kirpi Uimonen has worked in Hollywood for over 20 years and has interviewed and photographed numerous Hollywood stars. In his book, he describes that he has lived a normal lower-middle-class everyday life in Los Angeles. Uimonen writes in his book that he does not take a stand on gossip, lawsuits or speculation about people’s character outside of interviews, at workplaces or in private life.
