George Clooney was hospitalized four days before the start of his new movie. He tells that in an interview with The Daily Mirror.
For the role in the movie Midnight Sky, which he directs, Clooney had lost several dozen pounds, but that started to take its toll over time. The 59-year-old actor began to suffer from extreme abdominal pain and was found to have pancreatitis, which could have deadly consequences.
“I had not taken care of myself well enough. I had to stay in the hospital for weeks and really recharge, especially because as a director you need a lot of energy.”
In Midnight Sky Clooney plays a scientist who resides in the Arctic during a global disaster. When he comes into contact with the crew of a spaceship, he warns them not to return to Earth.
The film will run in theaters this week and can also be seen on Netflix.
