“It is an incurable disease. I’m dying,” said the 52-year-old former athlete, who was told by his doctor a year ago that he only had a few months left to live.

The former elite goalkeeper emphasizes that he has had an extraordinary life. Now his partner and gold prospector named Hector helps him to overcome difficult times. “That’s just my style of humor. I always love looking at that writing on the shirt and I’m glad I’m still alive. As silly as it may sound, that quote on the t-shirt inspires me and gives me strength. I am very grateful to the whole band for that,” adds the former German footballer.
