Geometry of reality | # 4 – “Our futures”: science and fiction to imagine the future of global warming with Jérôme Vincent (Actu SF)

Description

In this episode, we welcome Jérôme Vincent, director of ActuSF editions and of the eponymous website which deals with news from the world of the imagination.

ActuSF, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary, in 2019 published “Our futures”, a work compiling texts by recognized scientists on global warming and fictions, in the form of short stories, dealing with the subjects first discussed from a scientific angle.

The texts thus alternate between science and fiction. Each short story then makes it possible to explore from a fictional angle the analyzes and proposals made by scientists in each chapter, highlighting the positive and negative sides of each idea.

The main themes of the ecological crisis are discussed: rising water levels, agriculture, inequalities in the face of crises, etc.

Big names in SF take part: Pierre BORDAGE, Estelle FAYE, Jeanne-A DEBATS, Jean-Marc LIGNY, Catherine DUFOUR …

An exciting collection that Jérôme Vincent details for us.
