Geoff Keighley warns against high expectations

This week the time has come for Summer Game Fest 2022 to take place. But on this Thursday evening, we should hold back our expectations, according to presenter Geoff Keighley. The show is definitely set to include a lot of new information from previously announced games, but viewers waiting for some great reveals should lower their expectations. No Half-Life 3 again.

We gamers have to endure something. First, PlayStation’s big “State of Play” event, which again didn’t bring a release date for God of War Ragnarok or Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, but announcements for Resident Evil Village VR and PC ports of Marvel’s Spider-Man. We have to think in this direction when we look out for the Summer Game Fest 2022.

What can we expect at Summer Game Fest 2022?

As Geoff Keighley said in a Twitter Spaces audio session earlier this weekend about the upcoming event (via VGC), becomes Thursday’s show will be an exciting mix of “massive” AAA blockbusters and smaller indie titles. Most of these games are already announced and there will be no “megaton shocks” at the event. Fan rumors about the event are “crazy” for Keighley. This week’s show won’t be as big as the annual Game Awards events that traditionally take place at the end of the year.

Nevertheless, we can look forward to a few highlights:

Hollywood star will also be on stage Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to be there. There will also be some reveals related to Xbox games, but Microsoft will probably save the “big stuff” for the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase, which will take place on June 12th.

When does the show start? The Summer Game Fest 2022 will take place on Thursday, 9. June 2022 instead of! The event starts on this day 20:00 German time.
