Use GeNose as a COVID-19 test kit for travel conditions are urged to stop. This pressure arises because GeNose is considered to have low accuracy and is feared to produce false negative results.
Doubts arise because GeNose has not yet received the results of the validity test as a basis for determining the accuracy of this tool in detecting the Corona virus in the patient’s body.
The spokesman for the GeNose C19 developer, Mohamad Saifudin Hakim, admitted that the results of the validity test are currently available GeNose it hasn’t come out yet because the process is still ongoing.
“The results of the validity test have not yet come out, because the process is still ongoing,” said the judge in his statement quoted on Sunday (27/6/2021).
He continued, currently the GeNose C19 is still being refined. The tool is currently undergoing an external validity process involving three universities.
The external validity test is part of the post marketing analysis, when the GeNose C19 has been used by the general public. External validity testing aims to add data and strengthen the work of AI.
“In addition, the external validity test is part of continuous improvement and compliance with applicable regulations, after the medical device has received a distribution permit for use,” said Hakim.
Experts at three universities, namely Andalas University, University of Indonesia (UI), and Airlangga University (Unair) became independent examiners of the tool. GeNose C19.
