Gennady Timchenko resigned as head of SKA hockey

His place will be taken by Zenit CEO Alexander Medvedev. The board of directors of SKA also included the adviser to the head coach of the team, Honored Coach of Russia Vladimir Yurzinov.

Zenit CEO Alexander Medvedev has replaced Gennady Timchenko as Chairman of the Board of Directors of SKA. About it informs press service of the St. Petersburg club.

“The management, the team, all SKA employees sincerely thank Gennady Nikolayevich Timchenko for the years of fruitful work as chairman of the board of directors of the club,” the statement says.

Timchenko, in turn, thanked the club for their joint activities. “I would like to thank everyone for their fruitful joint work for the benefit of the SKA hockey club, which largely determined the development of professional hockey in Russia and made a significant contribution to the achievements of the Russian National Ice Hockey Team. I wish you new hockey achievements, good health, prosperity and good luck,” he said.

SKA also announced new reshuffles. Thus, Vladimir Yurzinov, an adviser to the head coach of the team, Honored Coach of Russia, joined the board of directors of the club.

Timchenko became head of SKA’s board of directors in 2011. During this time, they club twice became the owner of the Gagarin Cup, won the championship of Russia, won the Continental Cup three times.
