Genk’s company explains what the buttons are for

How many buttons and functions of your dishwasher, microwave or air fryer are never used? Even in professional kitchens, many high-tech applications remain underused. The builder of kitchen appliances Rational wants to put an end to this and has engaged the Genk company Mobietrain to make practical and at the same time fun manuals available via an app.

It was at the HorecaExpo that MobieTrain was introduced as Rational’s new partner. The former Limburg Start-up of the Year will develop a number of ‘microlearning’ that will make the smart functions of the kitchen appliances accessible to the 65,000 professional end users.

“We notice that the smart functions of the appliances are less discussed in chef training courses,” notes Thomas Fontaine of Rational. “The many options are therefore underused, even though they greatly simplify operation in a large kitchen. That is the same as, for example, a computer, where you do not know all the buttons and software, and so much of the efficiency gain is lost.”

LRM participation MobieTrain, which has already been named HR Tech Company of the Year 3 times, was asked to develop free and unlimited training so that users can master all the options of the devices. In the app they will find ‘gamified microlearnings’ in which the functions are explained in a playful and intuitive way. All professionals, from chip shop operators to chefs in three-star restaurants, will be able to follow the training courses.

Finally, the Genk company MobieTrain (founded in 2015 by CEO Guy Van Neck, Mireille van Hemert-Schelling and Willi Van Boven) will also develop modules to train Rational’s internal employees and to familiarize newcomers with the company.
