You had to be on time at Argelès-sur-Mer on Saturday, late in the afternoon, because the Genêts d’Anglet opened the scoring in the second minute of play. It was Laborde who surprised the whole stadium by scoring a goal on a blocked shot, which ended up in the back of Ferry’s net (0-1). Following this difficult start, the FCAA tried to react but proved ineffective as they approached the opposing penalty area. Ferry even had to stop a volley from Ranquine with a splendid save (4th).
The Alberians react with a volley from Bohbot (13th), then with a double attempt from Bohbot and Derbal but the visiting defense pushes back twice (18th). The Genêts are well in place and are very little worried by the Catalan assaults. Before the break, Yahiatène (36th) and Pasquier (42nd) placed two strikes but the ball went past the Angloye bars.
A resounding return
Returning from the locker room, Anglet came back strong and took advantage of the passivity of the local defense to score twice. From a cross, Daguerre places an unstoppable shot (0-2, 0th). In the process, it is Laplace, well placed, who receives a caviar from Lapeyre and places a flat foot (0-3, 52nd). An ideal start to the second half for the visitors who make their task easier.
The Argelésiens came very close to the correction after a strike from Laplace which ricocheted off the Catalan crossbar (54th). The FCAA ends up raising its head and appears a little more dangerous but neither Mendy (70th) nor Derbal (73rd) manage to deceive Lesec’s vigilance. On their side, the Basques also obtain some good situations against the Catalan goalkeeper. Betina (76th) and Lapeyre (81st) could even have increased the score.
For FC Albères-Argelès, you have to wait until a foul is made in the penalty area by a visiting defender to allow their counter to be unlocked. Belkaious’ penalty allows the locals to reduce the score (1-3, 78th). The latter push to come back to the score in the final moments but Marianella finds the crossbar on her shot (84th) then Derbal stumbles on Lesec in the money-time.
Albères-Argelès lost to Genêts and conceded a second consecutive loss at home. Among the Basques, everyone showed a radiant smile after this first success. Enough to allow them to launch their season. Next trip for the Angloys? Against the Pau FC reserve, September 24, for the fourth day of N3.

Reaction
Cédric Pardeilhan, coach d’Anglet: “I am satisfied with our performance, this victory rewards our work. I’m happy because we had a very young group. We were missing five starters but the young people responded. At the age of 18, Laborde and Daguerre, who played in Regional 2 last season, delivered a very good match, with a goal for each. We found a good state of mind with players who don’t give up. This is what we were looking for. This 3-1 victory does us good. We produced less play than usual because Albères-Argelès pressed us very high. Our defense also rose to the occasion. I’m really satisfied with our match, it’s encouraging for the future. In any case, after our first three games, we have as many points as last season. We will have to continue to work in order to maintain good momentum. »
