What he remembers above all, like Nicolas Reyterou, administrative director, is the high rate of license renewals, in all categories, recorded by the club at the start of the school year. “We exceed 700 licensees,” says Nicolas Reyterou, and largely due to renewals. This indicates that children and their parents are satisfied. On the other hand, this limits the possibility of new registrations. We do not want to exceed a certain threshold, to be able to properly supervise each team. »
A lot of young people
In pre-training, the Genêts have seven teams under 11 and under 13. Overall, the categories from under 6 to under 13 make up half of the Angloy club’s workforce.
Another satisfaction for the Genêts is to have firmly perpetuated its women’s section. “It was a little frustrating to see them leave, but it is also a satisfaction that Pauline and Margaux Fontan, trained at Genêts, left for the Girondins de Bordeaux,” notes Pierre Gourgues, “It is the illustration of our vocation of a training club. Our women’s first team is now made up of 70% players trained at the club. »
Garage sale Sunday October 22
The garage sale organized by the Genêts d’Anglet football and the Kiwanis service club will take place on Sunday October 22, in the covered parking lot of the BAB 2 shopping center. Like every year, there was a queue at the Genêts headquarters on October 7, to be able to have a stand. There will be more than 330. This garage sale will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
A place for everyone
For Nicolas Reyterou “it is essential that everyone who comes to Les Genêts finds their place in a team and can play. Which justifies, for example, that we have three teams under 15 years old. Our concern is that all children are well. We have a sporting role, but we also have a social role. »
This desire also comes through the image. “All our licensees receive complete equipment in club colors at the start of the season, with a tracksuit, sweatshirt, short-sleeved jersey, shorts and socks. “We do this to maintain a strong identity in Les Genêts,” says Pierre Gourgues.
