The men of rock group Genesis are according to the American magazine Forbes the highest paid entertainers of 2022. The musicians earned 230 million dollars (214 million euros) last year, mainly thanks to the sale of their music rights.
Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford outperformed singer Sting. The former frontman of The Police also raised a lot of money with the sale of his music rights and comes to an income of 210 million dollars. American actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry rounds out the top three, according to Forbes he earned $175 million in the past year.
Trey Park and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, are also among the highest paid entertainers of Forbes. The same goes for the creators of The Simpsons, James L. Brooks and Matt Groening. There is also a place in the top 10 for The Rolling Stones, James Cameron, Brad Pitt and Bad Bunny.
The highest ranked woman in the list is Taylor Swift, who took ninth place. Although she made a lot of money with her latest album Midnights which was released in October, she mainly earned a lot from music she released in previous years.
