Genesis GV80 sent for repair a month after the start of sales :: Autonews

Hyundai will recall the premium Genesis GV80 crossovers in South Korea, where they went on sale a little over one month ago. This was reported by AutoTribune.

The service campaign is associated with a problem in the software of the start-stop system, which turns off the motor when it stops completely and starts it again after pressing the accelerator. According to unofficial data, in some cases, due to an error, the transmission can switch to reverse gear even when the selector is switched to Drive mode.

At the moment, it is known about at least one accident that occurred for this reason. In total, 823 Genesis GV80 crossovers will be sent for repair, which will be repaired for free by downloading updated software.

Earlier it became known that Volkswagen could postpone the start of sales of the ID.3 electric car, which should compete with the Tesla Model 3. The launch planned for the summer of 2020 is threatened by numerous errors in the car’s software.

Model testers report to the management about 300 different errors and system failures daily. They note that the software was developed “in a big hurry,” therefore many systems and their elements “do not understand” each other, which leads to numerous crashes and other difficulties.
