The millions pour into the Hollywood strike fund; now the star couple Blake Lively (35) and Ryan Reynolds (46) have also donated one million dollars – NOK 10.3 million – to acting colleagues in Hollywood who cannot work as a result of the strike.

Thus, the donation sum to the strikers in the film city is already close to NOK 155 million. The married couple Lively/Reynolds thus joins a long line of actor-stars who have also donated to those affected by the ongoing Hollywood strike, writes Eonline.
Other couples who have donated $1 million or more also include George and Amal Clooney, Luciana and Matt Damon, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness and Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.

The campaign to strengthen the strike fund in the long-lasting strike must be said to be a success already. It was launched last week and more than 15 million dollars have already come in – or close to 155 million kroner – says Courtney B. Vance, who is president of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) Foundation.
Donations of more than one million dollars have also come from Leonardo DiCaprio, Dwayne Johnson, Nicole Kidman, Julia Roberts, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Meryl Streep and Oprah Winfrey.

160,000 actors, members of SAG-AFTRA, went on strike on July 14 after a breakdown in wage negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), which represents the largest production companies such as Disney, Netflix and several others.
Several of the stars who have donated large sums have also both made official statements and participated in strike marches in Hollywood. Meryl Streep calls it a fight against Goliath.
– We must stand strong together against these powerful companies that insist on taking human dignity away from our profession, writes Streep in a statement.
