Four donors ensured the payment of 22,944 dirhams, for the treatment of the young man, “Khaled” (Yemeni, 22 years old), who has been suffering from heart health problems since birth.

His health condition had recently worsened, and he needed treatment and medical follow-up in the heart clinic at Rashid Hospital in Dubai.

According to a medical report issued by the hospital, the patient needs special medications every month to control his health problem, in addition to continuous follow-up in the hospital.

The cost of his treatment for a year is 22,944 dirhams. However, his family’s financial capabilities do not allow them to secure the required amount to buy medicines.

And the “hotline” coordinated between the donors and the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai, to transfer the value of the donation to the patient’s account at Rashid Hospital.

The patient’s brother expressed his deep thanks to the donors, for their quick and humane response to his family’s appeal, appreciating their generous stand with his brother.

He stressed that «this generosity is not strange for the people of the UAE who love to do good and give».

And “Emirates Today” published, on May 30, the story of the young man, “Khaled”, who has been suffering from heart health problems since his birth, as his problems have recently multiplied, to find himself in dire need of treatment and continuous follow-up in the heart clinic in Rashid Hospital.

His problem was further complicated by his family’s financial capabilities, which did not allow them to secure the value of the medicines.

His family has appealed to philanthropists to help him pay the cost of his treatment.

A medical report issued by Rashid Hospital, of which «Emirates Today» obtained a copy, confirmed that «the patient was admitted to the emergency department suffering from severe shortness of breath, and examinations were performed on him, to show that he had heart failure. After resuscitating him, he stayed in the hospital for a week under medical observation.

He added that he currently needs treatment and medication, in addition to hospital follow-ups.

The patient’s brother recounted that “Khaled” was born with a sick heart, and that he suffered from the inability to breathe normally, which necessitated a catheterization operation for him, and he continued to need medicines to alleviate his suffering, but about two years ago his father died, and “Khaled” became without health insurance. .

And the brother continued, “During the recent period, Khaled began to suffer from heart problems, because we could not afford the costs of his treatment and his regular medications.”

And he continued, “About a month ago, my brother suffered from severe shortness of breath. He called an ambulance and transferred him to Rashid Hospital. And after resuscitating him and conducting examinations and x-rays, it was found that he had suffered from heart failure, due to his irregularity in taking medications, and the doctor requested that he be kept for a week under medical observation.

He added, “Khaled’s health has improved, and the doctor allowed us to discharge him from the hospital after prescribing some medicines and treatments for him, but our difficult financial circumstances did not allow us to manage their value.”

He explained that he is the only breadwinner for his family since the death of his father, and he works in a government agency with a salary of 7,600 dirhams, while his family consists of eight members.
