About 40 people were left homeless last week when a devastating fire broke out on Harrisleer Strasse. Not only the fire apartment itself is affected, but also the surrounding apartments. The people of Flensburg are once again showing extreme solidarity and are offering generous support in the form of monetary and material donations for the daily needs of those affected.
After consultation with the city of Flensburg, city spokesman Clemens Teschendorf asked the helpful citizens to refrain from donations in kind. The people concerned are currently accommodated in furnished accommodation and it is still unclear exactly what their needs are.
