On the evening of October 15, 2023, the Cultural Committee of the Generation of the Three Testaments (CCGT) organized a sermon on the esplanade of the Sangoulé Lamizana stadium in Bobo-Dioulasso. Objective, to commemorate the anniversary of the death of its founding father Hema Djaffar Ouattara.
October 15, 2021 – October 15, 2023. It has been exactly two years, to the day, since the founding father of the CCGT left this world. Also, with a view to paying him a vibrant tribute, the Cultural Committee of the Generation of the Three Testaments decided to organize a preaching session accompanied by praises of God in his memory. All its thirteen sections from the thirteen regions of Burkina Faso and delegations from Ivory Coast and Mali took turns singing hymns.
According to Hema Abdoulaye Ouattara, spokesperson for the CCGT, ” the death of the founding father occurred on October 15 on Ivorian soil. We, as members of the CCGT, apply the three Testaments, namely, the Torah of Moses, the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Koran of Mohammed. And in these three holy books, it is recommended to pray in memory of the deceased. This is why we initiated this sermon in his memory”. Before adding that at the CCGT level, there is no eating or drinking as other religious people do to pay homage to a deceased person. “But we sing many hymns (praises of God) to ask God for forgiveness for the spirit of the deceased,” said the CCGT spokesperson.
Remember that the founding father of the CCGT was born in 1944 in Guindougouba and died on Friday October 15, 2021 in Abidjan in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire at the age of 77. Djaffar’s disciples and followers remember him as a great man, a scholar and a great baobab tree throughout Burkina Faso and even in the sub-region.
Finally, Hema Abdoulaye Ouattara expressed wishes for peace for the country. But he also invited the enemies of the people to divest themselves of selfish interests so that together we can develop Burkina Faso.
