Generali Identifies Potential Takeover Targets, Including Aviva and NN Group – Bloomberg Report

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) Italian insurer Generali has, as part of its growth plans, made an analysis of potential takeover candidates. Bloomberg news agency wrote this on Wednesday based on sources.

Generali have identified more than half a dozen takeover targets. According to Bloomberg, Aviva, Uniqa and the Dutch NN Group are on the list. The Italians would not want to do a hostile takeover.

Generali has a market capitalization of almost 35 billion euros and would only look at parties that are worth less than half of this. NN is worth approximately 11 billion euros.

Other names on Generali’s list include Dutch Aegon and Belgian Ageas, as well as Ergo Group, Mapfre and Vienna Insurance Group.

A spokesperson for Generali declined to comment to Bloomberg.

Update: to add more names.
